Guide to Our Grip Sticks December 17 2024, 0 Comments

The most common question we get here is what is the difference between the different stick formulas we use. I thought this would be a good time before the 2025 season to put together a little guide...

1. The Stick - The stick is based off the original Bat Wax Bar. It's a durable formula made to withstand the hostile temperatures of the on deck circle. Out of all the grip sticks, The Stick has the most tack to it. When applied to the bat, it will stay on the handle vs. transferring to your hands or batting gloves unless in hot temperatures. It is best applied to the handle of the bat and not the taper. It's the go to stick for players who like the most tack on their bat handle. This will let you hold the bat lighter and get you the most barrel whip as possible. Tack Level - 9, Durability - 10

---
2. The Stubby - The Stubby has turned into the shop favorite around here as it's a very versatile grip stick. It sits right between the Pine Pop and The Stick for a reason. Real pine tar is used in the Stubby so it has a softness and spreadable character to it that makes it very easy to apply. It's tack level isn't as high as The Stick but there's plenty of tackiness in there. Temperature is a key factor in how to apply this one. On cold days.. I go straight to the handle. When it's warmer, I hit the taper of the bat with a little bit of rosin. Everyone will have their preference but that's what I do. It is dark in color and will sit pretty on your bat wherever it's applied. Tack Level - 7, Durability - 7
---
3. Pine Pop - Ohhhh the Pine Pop. Our Pine Pop paved the way for a lot of the push up style grip sticks you see today. It's ok, I'm not mad. This little guy speaks for itself. It's the gateway stick for all the old school pine tar heads out there that are looking a little more convenience or if you left the pine tar rag in the back of the truck and you're on deck. It goes on like butter but doesn't feel like it. It has a decent amount of tack right out of the gate but gives you a nice canvas to customize the feel of it with rosin. It's great in cold temperatures and will be at it's tackiest when you can see your breath. In warm Summer afternoons, it will soften up quite a bit and that's when you need its sidekick.. the rosin bag. If you like tapping the taper and having grip product on your batting gloves more than the bat handle, this one is for you. Throw it all over your helmet too. This stick will give the most old school pine tar look out of all of our sticks. Tack Level - 5, Durability - 4

I hope this little guide helps. Happy swinging! -PBW

We're moving! Wholesale closed until later this Fall... September 17 2024, 0 Comments

The time has finally come to pack it up and move out of our beloved Pier 54 location in San Francisco. We'll miss being in the thick of it but it's also time. Our new location will be in North Oakland / Emeryville. The good news is that our warehouse space will double and let us grow a bit more. Our last day of production at Pier 54 is Friday 9/27 and then we'll begin setting up our new digs with the hope of being back in action by 11/1 at the latest. Here's the new spot...

Thanks for bearing with us during the move. We'll do our best to move things along quickly. -Dave & PBW

All Proceeds from now until 6/10 headed to the Color of Change organization. June 04 2020, 0 Comments

Starting today and running though 6/10, 100% of all proceeds will be donated to the Color of Change organization. You can also use the discount code: colorofchange for 25% off. I will match the total discounted dollar amount and donate that on top of total sales. It’s time to take the next step and support the organizations that are fighting to increase power and change in black communities. I also urge any other companies out there to go beyond social media posts and channel funds into a meaningful direction for any amount of time you can. I know times are tough, but this is worth it. Much love -Dave & PBW
